Take in a wide array of Africa’s experiences in this extensive trip from Cape Town to Cairo. Learn about South Africa on tours through some of their museums and cultural centers interspersed with visits to nature reserves. After a few days, head up to Botswana and search for Africa’s Big Five on a game drive at Madikwe Game Reserve. Find the largest population of elephants in Africa at Chobe National Park. Explore the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve and learn about the local Masai tribes. Travel to Egypt to take in the ancient wonders around Cairo before embarking on a Nile Cruise.
Day 1-Arrive in Cape Town, South Africa
Upon arrival in South Africa, you will be met by our representative and accompanied to your hotel located at the scenic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront where you will spend three nights.

Day 2-Cape Town
This morning, your private guide will pick up you up at your hotel for a half day tour of the city including a ride to the top of Table Mountain. Enjoy a 5-minute revolving cable car ride to the top. Explore the mountain’s summit and absorb the breath-taking views before descending.
Next your guide will take you to see the South African Museum, Castle of Good Hope and District Six Museum. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel.

Day 3-Cape Town
This morning, you will be met at your hotel and escorted for a private, full day “Grand Slam Tour” inclusive of lunch, wine tastings and entrance fees to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape Funicular, Boulder Penguin Colony and Chapman’s Peak Drive.

Day 4-To Madikwe Game Reserve
You will be met at your hotel and accompanied to the airport. Check in and board your flight to safari country. On arrival, you will be met by camp staff and escorted to a dreamy safari lodge where you spend two magical bush nights. Enjoy your first game drive this afternoon and search for Africa’s “Big Five” – leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo and rhino.

Day 5-Madikwe Game Reserve
Tucked away in an exclusive slice of privately-owned land, within Madikwe Game Reserve, is the luxurious Makanyane Safari Lodge. Day 6-To Johannesburg
Board your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, you will be met and escorted to the hotel for a night of rest before your Botswana adventures begin!

Day 7-To Chobe, Botswana
Board your flight to Kasane, Botswana. There, your guide will accompany you to a luxurious retreat in the heart of the bush, located on the edge of Chobe National Park, the second largest national park in Botswana, where some 80,000 elephants roam.

Enjoy a full day taking in the beauty of the lodge and surrounding areas on game viewing activities.
From the lodge’s hilltop position, enjoy far reaching panoramic views over the Chobe River and floodplain below. The main public area includes a lounge, library and dining room, which are linked to outdoor viewing patios. Elephants feature heavily in any activity at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, as the largest population left in Africa occupies this northern corner between Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Game drives in open-sided 4 x 4 vehicles bring these grey giants into easy reach as they drink and frolic at the water’s edge in their boisterous herds. Thrilling game drives led by qualified professional guides bring you close to hippos, buffalos, puku and other animals that gather on the banks of the Chobe River. The puku, a small rusty-brown antelope, alongside impala, kudu and red lechwe, are only a few of the common antelope found here. Naturally, lion and leopard are also found in the area.

Day 9-To Nairobi
Bid farewell to Botswana as your driver accompanies you back to Kasane Airport for the flight to Livingstone, Zambia where you will board the non-stop flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival, after clearing immigration and customs, you are met and escorted to a nearby airport hotel to rest up for the next safari adventures!

Day 10-Nairobi / Masai Mara Game Reserve
Your driver will meet you at the hotel and accompany you to Wilson Airport to board your flight to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Upon landing there will be a guide from the camp there to greet you and escort you to your lovely safari camp where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 11-Mara North Conservancy

Day 12-Masai Mara to Nairobi
After a morning game drive and breakfast your guide will accompany you to the airstrip to board your return flight to Nairobi. On arrival transfer to your hotel to relax and wash off the safari dust.

Day 13-To Cairo
Arrive at the International Airport in Nairobi and check-in for your flight to Cairo, Egypt. Upon arrival there will be a local representative to meet you and escort you to a luxury hotel.

Day 14-To Cairo
Join your private Egyptologist to discover the pyramids of Egypt. This morning, travel to the famed city of Memphis, the capital of the Old Kingdom of Egypt and its necropolis and sacred center, Saqqara where you see the Step Pyramid, which was the earliest of all the classic memorials.
After lunch at Mena House, discover the iconic Great Pyramids at Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Enjoy a short camel ride with a view of the Pyramids. Then embark on a voyage to pharaonic times at the fascinating Solar Boat Museum. Visit the mysterious Sphinx before returning to your hotel.

Pay a morning visit to the Egyptian Museum, repository of many of the glories of antiquity, including the spectacular treasures of the boy king Tutankhamun. Then experience the world renowned Royal Mummy room. Savor a tasty lunch before embarking on an exploration of the labyrinth of shops and alleyways in the ancient Khan el-Khalili Souq.
Return to your hotel with some time at leisure and then in the evening you will get to experience a sound and light show at the Pyramids.

Day 16-To Abu Simbel and Aswan
Early this morning, return to the airport for your flight to Abu Simbel and a tour of the spectacular rock-hewn Temples of Ramses II above the banks of Lake Nasser.
Continue to Aswan, where you will be met and escorted to your Nile Cruise Ship. The 5-star Sanctuary Sun Boat IV is moored in a private dock in Aswan. You will be welcomed by the reception staff. Lunch will be served on board and in the afternoon, visit the Granite Quarries, which supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples, and still hold a huge unfinished obelisk.

Day 17-Cruise to Edfu
Breakfast buffet on board followed by a short motorboat ride to visit the romantic and majestic Philae Temple on the Island of Agilika. Later, an Egyptian cooking lesson will be presented on board.
Enjoy lunch, while you cruise to Kom Ombo and visit the magnificent Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. Afternoon tea will be served while you cruise to Edfu followed by a chance to explore the Temple of Horus at Edfu.
Tonight’s dinner on board will be an “Egyptian Night” costume party for all guests, with a chance to dress up in traditional Egyptian “galabeyya”. Dinner will be a lavish buffet of Egyptian specialties, followed by oriental music and dancing for everyone.

Day 18-Cruise to Luxor
Breakfast buffet will be on board while sailing to Luxor. This morning your Egyptologist will guide you around the strikingly graceful Temple of Luxor dedicated to the god Amun and then onwards to the Temple of Karnak.
After lunch, visit the Valley of the Kings. You will also have the chance to visit at least one tomb in the Valley of the Queens and visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. On the way back to the river Nile, you will pass by the famed Colossi of Memnon, known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn.
Return to your cruise for afternoon tea on board. Tonight’s farewell dinner will be a gala dinner (jacket required), with white-gloved waiters serving gourmet cuisine.

Day 19-Cairo – Depart
After breakfast, disembark and return by air to Cairo where you will connect on your departing flight.
