Sally likes to claim she was born to gypsy parents who instilled their love of travel into their children. Two of the daughters work in the travel industry while the third has lived in many cities around the world and traveled to those she didn’t get a chance to live in!
While she enjoys traveling to a new destination each time she heads abroad, her passion has always leaned towards Europe. She has traveled to Europe more than a dozen times and tries to add new locations to her “just visited” list each time.
As a way to immerse herself even further in travel around the world, Sally spent 10 years as an advisor and leader of her local Rotary District Youth Exchange program for high school students, encouraging one year travel/study abroad experiences for 15-18 year olds. Her program dealt with students from 28 countries around the world and she still keeps in touch with most of the 60 or so students the program supports annually.
A mother of three boys, Sally encouraged her children to explore and travel as well, so she has a wide variety of experiences to draw on when planning vacations, from camping with infants to cruising with teenagers and mother/son train travel across Europe. Now that they have all “left the nest” Sally and her husband are enjoying some time to travel to their favorite destinations. Additionally, Sally runs a travel club for women called vagabondGALS… an opportunity for solo women travelers to join together and explore the world.
Sally has been a Syracuse Travel Agent for more than 20 Years and has extensive knowledge in trip planning, execution, and travel experience.
When my family says let’s go on vacation, I call Sally!”
Trying to combine a vacation in Hawaii along with a 40th Birthday celebration with friends in Las Vegas seemed overwhelming. Combine that with my Masters residency being scheduled in Hawaii and my parents travelling with us – seemed near impossible to plan the travel with all of those moving parts and pressures. Hats off to Sally and her team – they organized out travel plans, helped us with excursions when free time allowed and hooked us up with a peaceful private place for me to recuperate after graduation. Thanks again!
